Mulalley & Co Ltd

Mulalley is a leading contractor for construction, development, refurbishment and maintenance and is at the forefront of innovation. We are based in Redbridge and operate over London and the South East. Becoming FORS Gold accredited and a CLOCS Champion has helped us to make tangible improvements to our own fleet, manage the impact of our sites and our supply chain, to ensure we protect vulnerable road users.

We became a CLOCS Champion in 2016, catalysed by a client contractual condition. We recognised that CLOCS was an important initiative which clearly aligned with our commitment to improve safety, plus our other achievements as a Considerate Constructors Scheme Founder Partner, Investor in People Gold and RoSPA Gold accredited company. We have also been FORS accredited since 2013 and recently achieved Gold again.

“The team has enthusiastically embraced CLOCS putting time a into ensuring that rigorous processes are in place.” Considerate Constructors Scheme CLOCS monitor report.

We have a robust CLOCS procedure in place and have developed in-house e-learning for staff to raise awareness of the standard. Staff also complete the Considerate Constructors Scheme vulnerable road user course. We have reviewed our construction logistics processes to ensure we identify best practice where possible and several of our employees have attended the CILT Construction Logistics Plan Training courses. Loading takes place on-site, with a designated signed loading area and CLOCS inspection point.

To monitor compliance, we undertake site gate checks in accordance with the risk profile of the site. We have developed an in-house app to undertake compliance monitoring checks to improve data capture and analysis of the fleet operator requirements.

To date, we have had three CLOCS monitoring visits from Considerate Constructors Scheme, all of which were compliant and commended for their approach. One monitor noted that the app enables Mulalley to “use technology to improve efficiency and increase compliance standards”.
