Construction Logistics Programme receives European Construction Logistics Award
In recognition of the outputs of the TfL funded Construction Logistics Programme, TfL have received the “Innovation in construction logistics policies in urban areas” Award from the EU-funded SUCCESS project. The SUCCESS project aims to improve the efficiency and reduce negative impacts of construction supply chains across the EU by exploring and testing reliable and innovative solutions.
The project stated that ‘TfL’s experience is indeed an outstanding case of a local government body that is facing the challenges of construction logistics in a comprehensive, holistic and smart way’.
The award was presented by Robert Missen, Head of Unit of Innovation at the European Commission, in Brussels on Monday 23 April. Mr Missen said “London’s approach to develop a construction logistics plan with the industry is key to their success. London has built up a lot of know-how in urban freight planning, which they readily share with other cities and industry stakeholders across Europe.”
